I retired after 40 years and my advice would be to take the match at the max, then dump the company stock every quarter at a minimum. It’s been a loser since SBC management took over and micromanaged everything under very heavy senior management.

You are the one they kept to long. He is right about the 401k change although it only applies to those that were hired prior to a certain date. Everyone hired after already have different matching terms.
It forces you to contribute more into AT&T stock until you change it

50% on 10% contribution would actually be an increase in company match.
There isn’t any change to the 401k match.
There has been no email or general announcement 401k martch will chang. Quit starting rumors with no basis. The real facts are bad enough to deal with!!
The old legacy 401k plan was 80% match on 6% contribution now it is going to be 50% match on 10% contribution. Email came out to those affected when vacation days were removed, and pensions reduced. Great way to plan for retirement when benefits keep being reduced (25yrs in november)

Pay attention. Did no one work at all during the last 2 months? They're changing the match calculation. Check your email. Wake up.
