So is it really to be assumed that the talent portal is actually going to be used. Are we really going to assume that HR is going to review ~8000 profiles in a few weeks and make a decision on everyone or is that just for legal show?

100% for show. Work off the assumption that HR thinks we are all stupid. The resumes are due end of this week. Deal closes in early Jan. In between there is the Xmas break. So two weeks give or take to go over 8,000 resumes. It’s to make it look fair and transparent but you would be a complete mo–n to believe it. But if you want a package the easiest thing to do would be to not comply it at all. Might work. The rest of us are doing this hours and hours of work for nothing.
You all know that mid year and annual goals and reviews are there to justify HR presence right? No actual promotions are given based on what’s in the employee portal. Otherwise why would HR keeps posting jobs externally on one hand while firing on the other? Oh yeah —- to justify HR function. So no they won’t review your online resume and goals.
It gives the people that will be laid off a head-start on updating their resume.
AI robot will sort, shift and collate the resumes and based on keyword bingo hits decide which 8 get reviewed out of 8000
It’s for show, not even legal, just to show employees that they’re being taken seriously that’s all.
