I got the teams call this morning from our SCM Manager (who was my selection rep by the way) and HR telling me that unfortunately I was not successful. No I’m sorry, no I tried my best to represent you. Only you will receive your email from HR later this week. That was it. I felt more compassion by one of my team members than by him. Screw them! So much for loyalty and hard work!

NO..... two letters that mean....no. You know, like in no I am not going to do that or no, I don’t want to go to McDonalds.

Wonder how much cumulative paid company time has/will be spent writing these long winded “novels”...not to mention the cumulative time of the hundreds if not thousands of people reading and responding to them! They can certainly save a few headcounts by getting rid of workplace! Who makes these “smart” financial and capital stewardship decisions???

Previous poster had a brill idea. Let's all post on this layoff site our own tales of how we got notified - obvi the LS message would be of most interest but sure can share the you got a job stories too. Of interest would be how the HR m-ron acted during the call and how nervous the selection rep seemed. Or if they seemed cold or disinterested and just wanted to get on to the next. What did they say? That you were a high regret? That they wished there were enough jobs? (Meanwhile jobs remain unfilled). C'mon everyone. Share your layoff journey and showcase your resilience!

OK, now Chevron has gone too far. RM, MW, and LJ need to pull their heads out of their a—. What in the actual f—- is that Chevron Together page and why are people over-sharing personal stories at work to 60,000 co-workers? Do they think it will protect them from being laid off? By the same token, I would love to see someone post to that site their tale of being notified that they no longer have a job.

“As if 2020 was not already bad enough for me and my family, here I was, sitting in my make-shift home office with my dogs barking and baby crying in the background, being told via Teams meeting by people I barely know (wouldn’t it be more appropriate if my direct supervisor delivered such a message?) that I no longer have a job as of December 31st.”
