Anyone hearing any rumors of when us DIRECTV techs may be laid off? I’m in Tennessee

Our DTV guys got trained on IP and ran our fiber MDU projects then eventually hit prems doing full installs. A good year or two they took most of our fiber from us and then..........they got sent back to DTV land to only find out that there are job listings for prem techs going for -10 dollars from their top pay....lol man were they trying to give sh– to union to only find out that they have to be unemployed with at&t for 6 months then try to apply for a prem tech position.... well played I must say haha

That’s stupid moving to retail...that’s going from the frying pan into the fire! Just move on and find work in a more stable company if possible since you’re only prolonging the inevitable, sad to say!

I wouldn’t think that you will get laid off considering that Directv has so many different types of systems still in the field and there are a lot of techs out that know the difference between all the systems! It would just be plain stupid for a lay-off and I would bet the FCC or DOJ would not want a lay-off because the government would not get their cut!
Hopefully Direc TV is sold before that. Direct TV tech's really got screwed bad on this. Worse than even legacy Prem Tech's
still 16 million subscribers. do not see why they would lay you off. provide exceptional customer service to retain those customers should be fine. thinking too much... stay positive my friend and get yourself a side gig.
