Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The stock market is UP big, yet T is DOWN big. I have a sickening feeling we are in worse shape than what we even imagine.

I’m a manager and this is my two cents...T senior management is clueless and are throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks! Their only lifelines are mobility and WiFi services that are generating a viable revenue stream! The problem with WiFi services is that they’re spending money like drunkin sailors with zero regard for expenditures! I’m not familiar with the Mobility side of business, so I can’t speak for it’s! Business services is money wasted at every turn because it’s lead by clueless managers that were thrust into the business with zero experience! They’re unfamiliar with procedure, applications, processes, personnel skill sets and the delivery of services to its customers over all! It’s a complete cluster and a failure in progress! Profit margins are razor thin and could stand drastic improvement! They’re over-staffed and under utilized! Good luck with that T, you’re not helping your own cause!

Sham is the perfect word. Bosses who’s skill set comes from the 80s with all of them spending more time ensuring they have a golden handcuff seat when the music stops instead of doing a job. The lay-off musical chairs will continue for years to come.

You hit it on the head. We all know that corporate leaders are ultimately measured by the board of directors with how well their investment is doing. It isn't doing well at all. This isn't just a randy and stinky issue. They placed the entire top leadership tier and, as accountants and not visionaries or great leaders, they chose a whole crop of sorry leaders. All you have to do is listen to any of these people to understand their only skill was making as few waves as possible during their rise to the top. We shove women and minorities into leadership positions to make numbers only. A few are actually quite good, but not many. That isn't because they are women or minorities. It is because they just aren't very good, just like their white, male counterparts. Every meeting I go to has one or two technical people who know what is going on and what to do and another twenty project managers and professional listeners who can't do anything. The whole company is a sham.
