Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Unemployment benefits remain unpaid

I was laid off in May at Aero Phoenix, applied for for unemployment to the Arizona DES to cover the 2 weeks of furlough in March and April and for the period after the severance payment expired. I did not receive a single penny until now! Does anyone else have a similar experience? please share your unemployment benefit experience, not only in Arizona but in any other state. Thanks.

In AZ. I was unaware that I could get unemployment while still getting severance payments but I still filed a claim every week stating my “earnings”. DES called me a few weeks ago because there was some error in my files. She researched and said Honeywell severance payments is “exempt” from earnings. So every week I should report 0 earnings. They loaded my debit card with backpay back to July. Only issue was my grandfathered vacation pay.

You should be collecting unemployment during severance.

I called the Dept of Treasury and made a stink - how do they control money? They called me back about 3 days later...told me that DES would call and they did. That person sat on the phone with me for 45 minutes and fixed everything.. I received money about 3 days later.. Check the article in the Phoenix New Times - you had better get the Cares Act money before Ducey spends it on non Cares Act items. I received a lump sum. Created an act online with the card and I immediately transfered it to my checking account- withdraw and deposit. Sinema has a number an email on her Facebook Post somewhere and you should also call abc15..and azfamily. You will NEVER get that money without doing all of the above. I do not think there will be another penny above 240 for Arizonans and they will do everything to not get money to you.

My severance expired as of June 19, but still no payments in Arizona! They don't answer the phones, they don't reply to emails or to messages sent in the portal. I don't know what to do! Any suggestions? Does anyone know if any legal actions have been filed against Honeywell and/or the AZ DES? Honeywell made us sign binding agreements in order to receive severance pay, but I am sure they are in violation of the WARN act, and the severance could well be a payment instead of due notice. The job market still s—s especially for experienced professionals in their upper 50's! If you get a chance to talk to a hiring manager (who interviews you virtually from the comfort of their home and refuse to even be on video!), you get a strong feeling he/she blames you for being laid off, regardless of the Covid situation and the rampant corruption and deceit of the Honeywell executives. By the way, I had worked at top fortune 10 companies, and by far, Honeywell is the worst. I truly believe that sooner or later someone will discover it is another ENRON, being kept alive by funds from the federal government through bogus contracts and shady billing...

In AZ I believe you can't collect unemployment while receiving severance. It should start after your severance stops.

I also was laid off at Aero in May. I am still on severance. But for the two week furloughs in the Spring, I did not apply fast enough to apply on-line, so I applied with the paper application. I received a debit card, but that balance is zero. I am going to re-apply I guess, don't know what else to do.

Severeness is the issue and Honeywell does a poor job communicating with DES. I waited 5 months and spent every Sunday calling the DES and there escalation process. Patience

I haven’t seen a cent from DES. Honeywell must be fighting like hell to prevent the payout.

I am in AZ.
My experience was seemless. Registered/applied online and quickly received the debit card the next week. After the furlough weeks made the claim and the card was funded within 3 days.
