@uut+17iBVzd2 said "No strikes because of the massive $$$ in the "Strike Fund" that we paid, and they garner the interest on." If the S.B's are planning on gaining interest in today's terms... wait a minute, that sounds like the useless S.BS stupid plan....

SE CWA sold out the members around 1998. Anyone with a seniority date later than that gets about half a pension.
CWA never updated the cost of living adjustments in the latest contract.
CWA did away with SIPP across state lines. That cost me about $20,000.
And the CWA let them get away with taking our health care supplement of $2,700 a year, if we don't retire by the end of the year. Granted that was not contractual, but when we hired on the BellSouth/ATT we expected to be taken care of well when we retired. Upper management is taking that money and using for themselves. They aren't going to have any problems making ends meet during retirement.

Absolutely useless! 24 years and not one time have they done anything but sell us down the river. No vote contract while inflating our insurance.

The problem is technological obsolescence of the copper plant. That is the elephant in the room.

CWA dis·in·gen·u·ous

Learn to pronounce
adjective
adjective: disingenuous

CWA is not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that they know less about something than we the workers really do.

They lowered the bar so much and now blaming us?

CWA changed in the early 90's, and even more so with the influx of new hires in 2000ish.
They went from working with the company while protecting workers, to working for the company.
Their main goal now is self perpetuation. Dues.
They have lost focus and become a business.
No strikes because of the massive $$$ in the "Strike Fund" that we paid, and they garner the interest on. No way they would want to give us a cent back....they'd rather lose at contract time...and we again pay.
And with the "new" folks having the numbers, many got elected to local office and really had no clue.
So they spend time in the bosses office, shooting the sh–. This never, ever would have happened years ago.
CWA isn't the problem, but it's certainly not the solution either.
Try contacting your district...you'll hear nothing until your local officials tell you to follow the chain of command and not contact district again.
Keep paying them dues.....
