I was laid off in July. The job market is very tough right now. All I can advise is get all the free Nano degrees and certifications you can to put in your resume for your next job. Not for ATT. Make sure it's something that's in demand right now otherwise you are wasting your time. Best of luck my ATT friends.
I got a nano degree and 1 actual degree. I don’t think the nano degrees give you enough training to actually do anything with it. Good luck selling that nano degree to another company or quite frankly even our own company. Go ahead, get a nano in something like AI and try to get a job with big data. I bet you won’t even get an email back. Yes, they are worthless. It gives you some understanding and knowledge, but no actual marketable skills in the area.
They're good for people to improve on existing skills that are relevant to their jobs, but a big waste of time for anyone who takes one up because they think it'll keep them from getting laid off.
About 15 people in my group did this and they're all gone now, and the org wasted about 20 grand.
What is an under-served Community? Would that be a rural town where schools get far less than urban schools get? Where far fewer opportunities exist? Where far less money is available for kids recreation?
I have a 4 year degree in Computer Science and I also completed a Nano Degree to brush up on skills and may complete other Nano Degrees or other outside learning to learn new skills - I don't think they are BS at all but can help someone further their skills and their career if they choose to do so. If Att or any company helps people gain marketable skills – then I'm all for it.
I’m certainly no fan of the rampant BS that occurs throughout AT&T, but to say Nano degrees are useless (I don’t have a Nano degree. I have 3 real degrees) is id–tic. If you look into them, you would realize that you can learn some seriously valuable skills.
It’s worth it, but T doesn’t care. I got the ax in July and I had one. Looking at who was spared it was PMP and six sigma people.
Great, so lay off people by the (literal) tens of thousands, disproportionately minority workers. Outsource work to the lowest bidder that brings in indentured servants and threatens to send them back if they complain. Cut corners on janitorial, administrative, and union labor, gutting the middle class that used to exist at your company.
When the proverbial chickens come home to roost, virtue signal the h3ll out of it by donating useless nano degrees, telling poor people "jUsT LeaRn tO CoDe" and take the photo while Stankey prepares his $200M golden parachute.

They are a way timeline a new skill. Sounds like OP has 30 years and is incapable of the concept of learning new things. No wonder the company is in trouble.
100% waste of time "working" on a nanodegree. Glad I withdrew from mine to concentrate on real work. I watched good employees spend too much time trying to get on a "list" to look good only to be sacked by surplus. Dumb
They need to "collaborate" with their "team" as well.
