Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

October 1

September my core Service Management switched over to Xerox, we had a IRIF at executive level, laid off sales and logistics. Let's move on to October 1. Service techs are switching over to Xerox and will eventually be separated from their cores. Sales will not have that relationship with core service as in past.
Service now is in the works and supplies will be moving to HCL soon. Rumor is operations are up next. Our once full corporate office is now empty and no reason to continue paying for the real estate.

This rollercoaster has more drops.

Anyone not transitioned to HCL will become a Xerox Direct employee. XBS may stay around as an internal organization but it will no longer be a separate entity independent from Xerox. The timeframe is the only thing in question.

Does anyone have any information about non-service techs going over to Xerox? I had heard ALL employees were going over to Xerox, but can’t get any information from anyone at our Core.

I work for a company bought by Xerox years ago. Oct 1, we were all suppose to become Xerox employees. Half of our service guys got WELCOME to XEROX letters in their emails this morning, half did not. wondering if that is an ominous sign....
anyone have any insight???

pon+17b3C8TH that was clear to that in executive management at the cores over a year ago. They are going a bit further then they told us and a bit faster but none of those should be a surprise. If you watched investor presentations it was pretty obvious.

The concept of "cores" is going away. In the near future XBS offices will be Xerox Direct regional sales offices. The "XBS" language was just an interim step to ease the transition from GIS to Xerox Direct because once the backend work is completed everything will be considered part of the direct business and use all of the same processes the direct business uses.

Sales will be part of and ran by Xerox Direct. HR and payroll will be done through the direct side. Supplies will be ordered through HCL and no longer stocked in local warehouses. The systems and tools used by the direct organization will be used. Everything will be the same as the direct side because there will no longer be any separation, whether legal or day to day processes, from the direct operations.

I won't argue whether this is a positive or negative change, but it is coming.
