I haven't really seen any discussion centered around unemployment benefits. Has anyone that was affected by the reduction in force filed for unemployment? Never in my life have I ever had to consider this, but in 22 days, I won't have a choice. Is there any particular website you're supposed to go to? Anyone have any tips/tricks or things you've learned during the process that could help the rest of us out?

Don’t apply for unemployment if you are getting severance. Think about it - you’re getting a paycheck and you want more??
I'm in TX and my position was impacted. Do we file for unemployment in our living state or Allstate home office Illinois? I'm also seeing that people are getting denied because of severance pay. My packaged wasn't much at all because I was with the company for less than a year.
Every state Has different guidelines
I applied thru the Texas Workforce Commission and was denied. I was a reduction in force and last day was 10/30/20. I was denied today
Yeah, doing a quick read at least for Texas, it looks like TWC site said it depends. I dunno if that depends on how it classified or what. I am going to assume from what little I read, that you aren’t eligible here until the severance pay has run out.
I was denied here in North Carolina due to going to be receiving severance. A few peers are having to pay back the few unemployment payments they already received after they initially did not declare that they were going to be receiving severance. Allstate told unemployment about these people's pending severance.
You need to go look up the requirements for your state because everyone here could be in totally different states with different u employment guidelines
