Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Covid rising

Quick everyone,
Even though Covid cases are going through the roof Alex wants you back at work so he can lay you off. This is ridiculous. The mgmt is saying there is no rush to work but the VPs are pressuring everyone to come in now full time. Cubicles and plexiglass that pretty much sums up their protection measures.

I was in the office 3 days this week because my leader mandated that I be collaborative. I made it a point to note every 30 mins what I did. I did actual work a total of 2.5 hours. Interruptions, distractions, BS watercooler chats and oh, TEAMS MEETINGS!? (not even in person meetings) took up the rest of the 27.5 hours. Hey Alex! See how productive working in the office makes me? And also, we’re exactly one outbreak away from becoming a big joke.

The company leadership is in chaos as even CLT is worried about their jobs right now. Toxic and political. I doubt they even care about covid at the moment

I could care less about the risk of going back to the office. The BS that it somehow increases productivity and collaboration is laughable though.

Check out the Husky thread as they appear to have a covid outbreak developing

Leadership is too focused on merger now to care about covid anymore. they will react to cases in each company when it happens. I expect that’s all they will do

Here at Husky, the daily communications to the staff re: COVID have stopped. Radio silence. No mention whatsoever of rising infection rates or any option to work from home. We have been back at the office since September. Lots of health and safety measures in place, but it makes work a real drag. Thankfully the majority of people here still comply with the rules, but many are starting to bend them (i.e. more people in elevators/meeting rooms than allowed). Laziness, along with COVID fatigue, is starting to creep in.

I think an update from Health and Wellness is way overdue. It’s very strange how long it’s been since last update.

I have to trust they are working on something soon for an update. The silence is just adding even more stress on employees.
