Anyone in the internet side of the business needs to be prepared for Starlink that could take a sizable chunk of this business. This could be another game changer from Elon Musk that could lead to more layoff for AT&T. They expect to be launching soon and are beta testing soon. Have a plan and be ready to pivot to another position.

OP is right! You people can arbitrate all you want, but the stock market favors Starlink. By the way, Starlink is not publicly traded yet, but all of the businesses supporting Starlink are doing very well.
Elon needs to keep his Bitcoin network backed up. Thats all.

Rain fade or issues with water reflection/blocking doesn't seem to have too much of an impact on starlink. How it reacts in snow will be interesting, but they do have a heating element built into the receiver. Latency doesn't seem too bad, as they hope to get down to 16-21 by 2021. That would put it similar to the interleaved VDSL uverse latency, but it will definitely be higher than fiber/cable.
The equipment and monthly costs are higher than I anticipated but it will definitely be competitive for its intended target, rural/sparsely covered areas. This isn't going to impact ATT or other providers in suburb/metro areas as it will be more expensive and slower than most offerings.

Starlink is Space Junk
You’re just one of many technology inept fools on this board. Starlink is not a threat to fiber broadband for so many reasons you wouldn’t understand even if they were explained to you. Copper broadband and rural services? Sure, but that’s not our bread and butter. Stick to sales or marketing or whatever else it is that you do, if you even work for the company.
It sure is coming and It will bury firstnet. Musk will capitalize on every mistake T makes, and there are plenty to pick from.
Not Really, Starlink's capabilities today are overblown, its only real value will be for underserved rural areas or off-grid installs,those with no existing wired infrastructure. and its going to be pricey, $99/month + equipment costs.. Its not applicable for the majority of residential customers, and definitely not for cities. They can only handle a max of 10% of local Internet traffic, in high-density cities
People forget it's still a satellite technology, so the laws of physics haven't changed, when it comes to weather interference, signal propagation issues because of nearby terrain and other disturbances, add to to that an unproven scaling issues as network capacity increases , especially in some dense rural hotspots.
I applaud SPaceX, but I think if you read the goals of Starlink it's really more about worldwide internet coverage, not about replacing your high speed broadband.
The targeted demographic and price structure of Starlink does not make it a threat to anyone.
