Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Claims adjusters need a UNION

Reading through the weeks and months of all of these posts really shows how horrible this company is treating its adjusters. Can anyone start organizing or getting some help from their local unions to give the adjusters a real voice? The anxiety the pain the disrespect will do nothing but continue because of these Chicago thugs running this company into the ground unless it’s all brought to light with real representation a union is needed. Times have changed. Work life is not the same. No matter how many Inspire surveys you feel out it will never change anything. Adjusters need a union and so do the processors.

Sadly Allsnake will squash any unionization attempts like a bug almost as quickly as the words are muttered. It is within the legal jargon of the employee conduct agreement that unionization attempts and talk are unacceptable behavior. I as well have seen employees walked out the door for just mentioning unionizing. Your leaders also are required as part of their job to report any utterance of unions that are done. Sad times at this sewer of a company.

To echo @gnz+17FJ3eW9...do be careful. It is grounds for termination. When I was there, I saw 3 people at various times get fired for just talking about it. GOOD LUCK! It is what employees need. Allstate is a very abusive and unforgiving company.

My father was in a union job his entire career, employee protection, wages, benefits etc all negotiated up front. I would love to see this happen in the insurance industry. Long overdue for the abuse employees endure.

Walmart has kept its employees from unionizing for decades, so has every other insurance company. Reminds me of labor laws in California that require them to pay OT, so what did they do? Close all CA offices and move them. I agree with you OP but corporations control everything now, in the modern world forming a union is impossible

The advisory council to the FCL or RCL or whoever’s is a joke. That was supposed to help us! All we got out of it was NOTHING. A subway gift card for $5. And a thank you. Too bad we don’t get an email from a union organizer to get this thing to a vote. It’s illegal for a company to squash union uprising ....but hey.... It’s Chicago they do a lot of illegal things there to the working man and they get away with it. Allstate no better and a racket. Millions and millions for the top.

I do not disagree with this representation being needed. However there have been several attempts to unionize areas of this company and corporate has squashed it every single time. Allstate rejects all forms of unionization and are experts at squashing it before it ever gets off the ground. I know employees that were termed for even discussing it. Supposedly it is vaguely referenced as a no no in the code of conduct. If you all go down this road be most careful and most mindful as all prior attempts have failed.

Police. Fire and nurses have Unions. If they didn’t they be poo@$ed on bad! Allstate is a cause for action. How do we get a rep to start this ? Employees can’t do it on their own. I’m calling Chicago bureau of labor.
