Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Expense changes

I was informed during a 1 on 1 today that rules on expenses are changing, I have used my personal phone and always been given able to expense 25.00 a month toward my bill, now I am told I will have to submit my bill showing how much my monthly plan cost and that they will only reimburse the amount over my monthly plan expense? I was told if I don't want to use my own cell anymore I can request a company phone and I need to let them know in December.

The other items that get submitted will be scrutinized too now, it you are going to charge it you better have a reason why you didn't try to get it through Allstate first.

Another thing is non exempts will have to punch in and out. I haven't had to punch in for 30 years. Way to trust your employees!

Changes are coming soon, if you are going to be a home based worker from now on due to COVID-19, the options will be a company cell phone, or what is going to be preferred is the Avaya VOIP system with your laptop. These changes will eliminate the need for the company to pay money to the employee toward their personal cell phone bill. They are looking at ways to cut cost and this is just another way.

Belly aching about reimbursement? Pffft... There are countless corp employees at many levels that WFH, work weekends and holidays. They aren't reimbursed for expenses and they don't have the option to do so. Consider yourself lucky to be employed.
