I'm shocked to learn that T has a multi-year agreement with TSLA to provide wireless internet service to Tesla's vehicles. This deal was solidified in 2014. Is this agreement still active?

Yes, it was somewhere in a press release or interview. And USA customers are not able to swap it for a SIM card that works where att doesn’t cover their area.
From what I recall, Jasper cloud/ jasper wireless is the 3rd party company servicing this deal. They are providing SIM cards and proxy for ATT contract with Tesla in North America . Att sold Tesla on the dream of “global sim”. I mean come on that marketing pitch was gold to any company with global aspirations. 1 sim, 1 modem (Sierra wireless 3g in early Tesla’s, band 12 lte siso in later years ) for all products they sell in 220+ countries. Tesla quickly learned that was an unacceptable deal outside North America, data costs were higher than expected, roaming/peering priority was terrible and they were apparently free to work with local providers in those markets. Tesla is unlike any other automotive manufacturer in the world. They actually use a significantly higher amount of data from every car for telematics and entertainment. Att is in almost all new vehicles sold, but unlike Tesla’s 100% in use statistic, only a small percentage of those competitors sims are ever in use. Att must have some clause in the contract where Elon can not reference it. He does frequently mention cellular fails at full self driving. for all the marketing hype att does, att execs have zero clue how self driving works and what it needs is not unreliable cellular radios. Elon’s also said they intended the cellular deal to allow hotspot, but claims its below worthless when he tested it, so he won’t allow it for customers. I personally understand, global sim requires a cloud proxy, and att directed them to use a low end modem, low end antenna setup. That combo, with Tesla’s telematics, puts average middle class owners to just use the data in their personal phone, and tether any Wi-Fi only devices.
Isn't Tesla working on a global internet project? , soon after completed bye bye loser T..lmao
I guess that explains all the crashes.
company growth...LOL little PR campaign here ... Microsoft.....there....Oracle..... etc..
Information like this should be highlighted in investors meeting to help with the company's growth.
