Yes, the layoffs are done and I'm still here. But so many of my coworkers, of my friends are gone. I hoped this would be the weekend when things go back to normal after the stress of the past several months and especially the past two days. But I don't see it happening. I don't feel like celebrating. I just feel sad. This company has really done a number on us, hasn't it?

Where is the board of directors and share holders? They have to know what is going on and approve it.
This was a great mutual company and the employees mattered.
Perfect examples what went wrong with the Grand old USA. No unions, no raises, 60 hour work weeks and the icing on the cake ? Pray i don t loae my job so you can give me more work. Sounds like slavery.
Allstate cares very little for their employees or the customer. Profits over 1.4 billion and 4 million dollar salaries yet massive layoffs? How about starting at the top and work downwards. That would leave the real workers and eliminate the biggest waste of money.
Allstate is led by two very slimy individuals in Mr. Wilson and Mr. Shapiro. These masterminds have been caught insider trading and deserve jail time. Mr Shapiro came on board and immediately began destroying the company with his ‘90s business mentality: nothing he is doing is new, just underhanded. When brought on board he was lauded for the measures he took while with his previous company. The question to ask is if he was such an asset to the company, why did Allstate get stuck with him? The man is a true piece of s$@t! The 4 million he is paid could go towards saving a large number of jobs for the real people behind Allstate. All these 2 are concerned with are the shareholders and their personal wealth.
Those insured by Allstate and its’ many subsidiaries are in for a surprise when they call in to file a claim and are dealing with someone in India, as Allstate is moving their operations out of the USA. What was once a very respected organization with the concerns for their customers a priority, is now abandoning its employees and sending their work to foreign soil. Put Wilson and Shapiro in jail.
The workplace is for work and to make money not friends
Because there is still no certainty.... just uncertainty and dread "for now". They care about us until they don't.
Layoffs may be done in your area for now but this is only part one of a multi year cost cutting plan. Also other areas are just now starting their layoffs. Please be considerate.
You have your job. Stop complaining.
