Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

CWA is the problem

Centers are closing because the cwa promotes not working and cheating the company. But really you are just cheating your so called union brothers and sister. Who do you think gets the angry customer after you hang up on them- NOT Management. If I owned the business I would outsource all the work to people who really want to do it. Thanks for messing it up for the rest of us.

You must not have ever dealt with “management” actively looking write up technicians because of upper management pressure....Cwa isn’t perfect but it’s better than nothing

That's pretty bold blaming the CWA for this company's failures. For the most part, the CWA is just a rubber stamp for management relations with craft.

To blame them for the disastrous business acquisition decisions of the Stephenson era, the mismanagement and subsequent destruction of value of the acquired businesses, and the general managerial incompetence of this company in general is ridiculous.

The union had nothing to do with the failed acquisition of T Mobil. Randy cost us Billions on that one. The union had nothing to do with buying Direct TV, Randy is on the hook for that. Randy and John bought Time Warner. Tell me how that is going. Must be the Unions at fault.

The unions of today are not even close to what the unions were of yesteryear! Greed and corruption and complicity rule the union. Give backs are the norm since 1995. Healthcare and profit sharing/ team awards are just a few.

@joc, I'm @rur, what makes you think I haven't worked for, with, and along side unions and union members? I have, for over 40 years. I know what my experiences, thoughts and comments are and where they come from, personal observations. And I live a great life. That name calling, trying to categorize, separate, create division you did, such a union thing, not to mention a Communist thing you did there.

Fine opinion from a sit in the ac commander,I've worked union craft most of my life and am just as American as you but without being a snob.It makes for a fair and liveable life and wage/benefits.Non union shops hire and more importantly fire by nepotism or by the brown nose scale .lifo is the best way to live. If you ever have to actually physically work one day you will see what I mean. We all hope you never have to.

All Unions, are and have always been the problem. Not to mention they are nothing more than microcosms of Communist cells breading descent, and are loaded with anti-American miscreants.

that's a very odd perception of almost everything to do with your job, which is to say don't worry about anyone but yourself and the work that you do.why are people ( like you) so concerned with everything but what you can control? just do your job and keep the critiques to yourself.
