Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

CenturyLink to Lumen

A rose by another name still has the same thorns.

Another waste of resources and money in an attempt to make the stock move up from near all time lows.

I got the axe as a COT this year. My six months are up and i have been propositioned by three different companies in the past two weeks to come back as a CO contractor.

They are paying anywhere from $25-30hr and benefits are actually better than CTL. One offered healthcare benefits at $58 a pay. But they don't offer up any info other than area. No starting date etc.
They are looking for someone to do everything from power, racks, equipment to routines.

"Just because your supervisors reports to a former National Networks manager doesn't make you part of Enterprise. And if you don't think you can be gotten rid of, ask the contractor provided COTs in L-Q Arizona or the combo techs all over the company."

Well Combo Techs are mostly in Rural areas and Legacy Qwest has them also as well as Legacy Centurylink, Many of the Metro areas where COT'S are not only understaffed but asked to do more each day cover multiple offices and don't have time to do general office upkeep and barely have times to do routines are going to be replaced by Contractors who won't do anything other then the basics,?

"Buckle up?", I'm a legacy Qwest COT. Guess what group they put us under? Enterprise. You think you can get rid of us, the 5 techs in every RCA that cover hundreds if not thousands of miles of COs in this giant land we call the West? LMAO

Hell we have roll cages and impact barriers and 4 point harness, 20 plus years of hearing this we are not blind to the situation, we are not going to go quietly into the night in a market and economy as it sits right now, FCC still has it fingers in the pots and won't let them just shut the lights off.

Buckle up. If you are legacy Qwest or Centurylink you WILL be worked out of the business. Continued layoffs for the remainder of the year are targeting those employees.
Polish the resume or make sure your couch is comfy.
