I think it’s important to be transparent here so everyone knows the mechanics of the system and how it affects people in different situations. The decision taken then by each individual is up to them.

Generally if you are consistently in the outstanding category, you’ll get promoted every 2 years or so up to cl27. There is an advancement guide that provides promotion eligibility by yee and performance, of course t lower performance levels, promotions happen at a much higher yee. After cl27, it depends on whether you are on the technical or supervisor/manager tracks and your pot.
If you are on the supervisor/manager track, then it’s up to the promotion approver’s discretion, you no longer are on an advancement guide and if that approver likes you and you keep doing well, you’ll get your cls in short order until 29.
If you are on the technical track, good luck to you. It then depends whether you have been identified as a senior technical person with exec cl. If you aren’t then divide your years to retirement by the number of cls left to go to 29. That will likely be your mean time between promotions assuming your performance stays at excellent or higher. Any lower and promotion timing tends to approach to infinity. If you have exec cl, then how fast you move depends on your supervisor’s boss, that person will have discretion on your promotion.
Yes it’s good. New hire’s first increment is $2000. Next increment less, only $1999. After 2 years about $8999. After that, only $1500 a year, so 10 years about $20999. Is it good enough for new hires now?

To the question of salaries by CL, yes thats about right. However its just the base salary, not inclusive of LTSA, bonus, company paid CPF and RSUs.
The difference is that other companies workers are actually working. Most of Exxon people are just spending time doing pretend work with flowery ppt slides that shows projected figures that nobody tracks or not substantiated.

SINGAPORE – A petrol kiosk in Tampines that provided the backdrop for the popular 90s local sitcom Don’t Worry Be Happy shuttered on Tuesday.
The Television Corporation of Singapore series, which was the first Singapore-produced Mandarin sitcom, revolved around a family who runs an Esso petrol station.
The Tampines Avenue 7 kiosk’s closure sparked pleas from Singaporeans and Tampines group representation constituencies MP Baey Yam Keng for a tiger statue outside the station – an icon for ExxonMobil’s Esso – to be retained as a memento.
Responding to queries from ST, ExxonMobil Asia-Pacific retail fuels sales manager Tan Wei Ling said on Friday that the company is evaluating options to find the statue a new home.
“We are touched by the deep attachment that the community has for the station and our Esso Tiger,” she said.
The lease for the service station, which has served customers for more than 30 years, has expired and another company will be taking over, Ms Tan said, adding that customers can go to the nearby Esso service station in Tampines Avenue 9.
Don’t Worry Be Happy, which ran for six seasons, had a light touch into serious issues that the average Singaporean could relate to, such as the high cost of car ownership, the dilemmas faced by a working mother and marital problems.
Performing scenes of the show before a live audience at every recording was also a first for the Channel 8 cast.
