@89rg commercial will leave with the office move. Make it so inconvenient that they leave without package. 2 years is a long time and we have PIP!

Of course cut manufacturing La. The process unit, equipment and people are considered opex. To keep the business running, you can keep the unit but you can reduce the people running or maintaining it. Why will they want to cut commercial, those are potential ceo leh

Hear whisperings from the wall that the bulk that is expected to be cut will be from commercial side. However, manufacturing side will not be spared either. Every non critical teams with existing counterparts in BTC/KLTC are expected to reduce their headcount by 1 or 2. Remaining headcount are encouraged to do more with less. Leadership team advised the local team to work smarter and harder

The only way out is this, especially for the commercial folks in hbf before it's too late.

  1. Gather the group of people who can provide good information. Traders, ex manufacturing folks, sls and whoever
  2. Come out with a plan to sell sgcx manufacturing site, not just ref but scp as well
  3. This is a combined effort, get buy in from whoever before presenting upwards

The benefit is vast like potential pds moment, avoiding the need to come to jurong by 2027 and still being able to work at a good or better location near town. Think about it

The writings were on the wall ever since Rapid Project was announced 10 years ago. Nobody foresee it to be a competitor and took it easy. In 2020, Exxon got kicked off from Dow Jones Index is already a turning milestone. When Singapore declared Carbon tax and increase it progressively. It is already a nail in the coffin. In fact, nobody dare to say CRISP will be a success. Like aquascaping, iwagumi looks very simple and easy to maintain and operate but the truth is it takes pure dedication, passion and patience to rid of all the undesirable variables and keep it in balance.

Lol sgcx deserves this. We have leaders who are too soft and no capabilities to lead. Ang mo colonial master say what, we do what even though it means losing our job, damn loser. Now employees are so soft that they want kindness. We deserve this

I am a current EM employee. It’s not enough that I do well, people around me must fail badly. When they do something wrong and gotten NLI/LI, it makes me sleep very well at night because I know that someone is taking NSI for the team.

Otherwise, how to do well in ranking?

@88y9 LMAO we need Singa the Kindness Lion wearing our free Mobil 1 racing polo shirt. To spread the love in SGCX.

I am a current EM staff here. Just would like to say a few words.

Most stay because of the money and to sustain our lifestyle, family and commitment. No one loves the corporate grind, PIP and the slogan to drive the workforce. What works in the US or HQ don’t work perfectly in Asian context. We are just the following what ah gong wants us to do.

Ex- employee, once u did enough, just leave here alone. There’s no need to dig further or gossip about the company status. No one wants it. No one wants to see you leave to. It just that you are a misfit in this demanding place but definitely will thrive better elsewhere. Everyone is really fighting for survival. Every single stupid or smart opportunity are given a shot just to save this site.

If you are ex employee, just be nice and kind to this company and the employee. If you are a current employee, do what you need to do and be kind to yourself and others.

Kindness is lacking in SGCX. If everyone start a little, this place will be better a little bit.

My SLS told me at the start of the year that my team is already at the end state of TMTS and so there will not be any further cuts. Is that no longer true with the most recent announcement and we have been sold a bag of untruth ?

When was the last time you had given out a name card with pride? Did you manage to connect with fellow industry players through associations and webinars? Did you upgrade yourself with skills and knowledge and got certified? If you didn’t, it’s time to reflect why are you even staying.

@88pa I’m 88n9. Retiring after this round of cut, with or without package I’m out. 46 years old and have saved my F U money. I’m low CL, low potential and already lucky to survive until now.

I don’t know what I will do after I leave EM. But one thing I will never do, is come to this layoff board and suan people who need a job.

@88n9 well… this is the hard truth. Times are bad now. EM makes you jack of many trades, which doesn’t allow you to shine when looking for a job.

Be ahead of others, start practicing your interview skills.
