Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Lawsuit against union or at&t wrongful termination

To whom it may concern , I NAME am formally revoking/rescinding the voluntary buyout offer effective immediately DATE. I wish to remain on payroll and keep my employment indefinitely.
The voluntary buyout form I filled out is VOID because of the following reasons.
WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WAS SAID.
So I took the voluntary buyout solely based on the direction/statements made by WHO ,that i would be laid off either way. Now that I know that to be untrue ,I revoke and rescind my buyout form and consider it void based on the false/misleading statements made by At&t management.
Thank you

I'm out of district 9 in San Diego. At&t has revoked all layoffs. But if you followed the unions instructions. They said sign or be fired?
What to do 🙃

How do you know they aren't going to layoff the original # they claimed?

DirecTV side, most of the prem techs got an email saying they only took the people who signed up for 5k as layoffs and the rest will remain employed is that the same for the DirecTV side.

Only 1 problem. You signed the form. Perry Mason says you lost the case. Perry said you were not forced but voluntarily resigned. I have some ocean property for sale in Arizona. Send cash.

Took the bait and signed a voluntary leave for a simple 5k and now you’re shocked the company lied to its employees and you’re out of a job....stop searching for someone to blame, look in the mirror....terrible decision....

This is correct, management read out a script specifically saying “ if we do not meet the desired volunteers, it will become involuntary”. So yes you were mislead my T management. If at all possible try to get one of the managers to forward you that email they read that they got from HR.

so you took the bait?

That was your 3rd unforced error.

the 1st one: work for AT&T
the 2nd one: to be an Union member.

If the union “instructed” you to take the buyout otherwise it will result in a “forced termination” and this ended up not to be true. I would call an attorney ASAP to also go after your local and the company! That is not right and while your at it call your state labor department since your PAID representation is a HOAX!

ATT and CWA are in bed. Nothing new. That being said, If you do not feel that that your union Local is properly representing you then I would too schedule a free consult with a wrongful termination attorney.

THATS B.S. they told you guys to sign! And than said never-mind!? If you signed that meant it became 100% voluntary vs you were gonna get fired if you didn't!? CAN THIS COMPANY GET ANY LOWER!????????? sorry to hear that....best of luck. F the at&t AND THE UNION

Anyone affected should be seeking counsel for a class action if the union is not being clear and direct about what course of action is being taken.
