Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Lay-offs Today

According to the Warn notice in OKC today will be another round of layoffs.
This usually means the folks in Florida and beyond will experience layoffs.
I guess I will just wait around for my name to be called. We are all like sitting ducks.
With all the millions just paid out in bonuses they have no money left for the rest of the employees!

The problem with this sh– a– company is senior leadership. All you hear is how wonderful we were doing for two months......then the pandemic hit and a multi billion dollar corporation cant hold on for a few months. What a joke. Bob Stuart is a f—ing clown. How the hell has this loser lasted this long. He is the ring leader of a group of clowns that kiss his a– day in and day out. A bunch of 20+ years of experienced rental car salesman with no where to go.

It's not because Hertz is your livelihood that you have to be dumb and blind.
I'm afraid your livelihood will end soon and according to your intelligence you might go through tough times.
I better understand why you hang in there and would do anything to save your little benefits. Guys like you are honey for creepy managers.
You are one of the reasons the company collapses!

I love the negativity! I make it a point to do 50% less in my job everyday. The company is nothing but a dumpster fire in a slum indusrtry now. I encourage everyone left to make it a game of how to help put this company out of its misery. The Senior Leaders are gaming the turmoil to enrich themselves before liquidation. Just put in half the effort and look for ways to take advantage of the poor oversight until they close the doors for good in a few months.

Your negativity straight up s—s. Yes it’s a corporation where people are just a number but for many people it’s our livelihood and what puts food on the table. If you don’t care then gtfo! Do us all a favor and leave because you’re probably worthless at what you do anyway.

If the top management doesn't care I don't think the middle management or the employees should care.
We are not talking about a family business but about a big corporation whose engine is greed.
I suggest we adopt a don't-give-a-S attitude until all the Board is replaced...and that will be never, or after the Chap7 or the purchase of the company.
Until then, breathe and stay cool.

What’s really disappointing is the overbooking of reservations, upsetting customers and stressing and overworking employees. The fleet is trashy, what’s left of it. High mileage. NPS is a joke. They pretend they care about it, but after having long waits that exceeds 2 hours, you can possibly expect me to think you care about service. As managers we work tirelessly to run the operation. It’s a lot. No bonus, long 12 plus hour days, staffing challenges.

Sad thing is that in the Frissora settlement Hertz is only being paid back 2M, while the lawsuits had estimated 70M in corrupt bonuses tied to the accounting scandal

Thiefs in suits

This also is Hertz:

And some mo–ns will telle us that we need to get fully involved with this corrupted company. All that is BS.
What about the people that were laid off user MF reign because they were honest...will they get some money back?
Over 10 years of illegal and with no integrity management!
Hertz is a shame

What’s wrong with this country is corporate greed. Not people that use a platform to express their opinions, good or bad. What’s interesting is I’ve seen very few comments speaking highly of the company. Sure people are more prone to speak of the negatives, but don’t see many people stepping up to defend Hertz. It’s unfortunate as I believe Hertz had potential to change the culture for the good. If the company survives, they should stop promoting the a– kisser “friends”, and actually promote the hard working talent they have.

Your job the last 3 years was to find disgruntled employees and lay them off? Sounds like you haven't done a good enough job. Might have to lay everyone off and start over. Or they need to find someone else who does a better job than you at it

My whole directive for the last three years with this company has been to find disgruntled employees and get them on the layoff list. Yes there is a list, and I have done a great job of getting plenty of names on it, and will continue to do so.

I am well aware that so many involved Hertz employees got thrown out like trash.
This is why I have come to the point that I will not sweat for a company that treats it's employees with such disgrace.
I deeply think that while the culture remains unchanged no employee should involve too much for Hertz.
Let's spend our energy for our families, friends, the causes we defend.
Hertz is just a job. Not a family, not a friend. Just a bunch of greedy executives that would say any lie to serve their interest.
Zero morale.
And I am not the one who should leave, the Board should.

I know many people who worked there between 20- 30 years who cared about the company and would like to still be there busting their a–. But they can't because they got thrown out like garbage a mere few weeks after this pandemic started. Many into horrible unemployment systems where some still have not received the money they deserve. So think of not having to worry about paying your bills the next time you want to praise this company that treated us like c-ap for years.

And the comparison with JC Penney is not worth a penny.
It is not because there are bank robbers that wallet thieves are not guilty.
Both are thieves.
There aren't any obligation to ruin a company and rob the employees.
Again 16.2 millions bonuses when 20k employees were laid off and the remaining 18k won't get any bonus.
Shame not standard practice is what comes to my mind.

I love how naive you are.
How many years would you need that good employee that works his a– off to get near the 700k bonus?
If the situation is bad then everyone should collaborate.
If only the employees make an effort and the management shared the pie, employees are getting screwed.
But obviously some people like to get screwed and feel like working class heroes.
Looks like the brainwash has been working.
Your choice.
And I would question how the management has turned employees to disgust rather than blame me for highlighting the obvious.
This company is low morale. Why should have feel any guilt when the one who drive the company don't?

I love all of the comments here. It’s amazing that when someone posts something negative, Everyone gives it a thumbs up but when someone posts something positive or optimistic they dislike it.

Misery loves company and that’s what’s wrong with this country.

Yes there were bonuses paid. But no where near what other companies do when they file bankruptcy. The new CEO got 700,000. Look up what the ceo for JC Penney got. Then complain. Retention bonuses are a part of bankruptcy filing. Those of us that are still working, that care what happen to the company, that bust their a– day in and day out to make sure the operations run as good as can be expected. While others, you, do the bare minimum. Doing to bare minimum just to get a pay check means you are a sh– employee. Someone that took pride in their job then, would still take pride now. And sorry your management isn’t supportive. Mine is. I and many others have and are doing what we can for this company. If it doesn’t work, so be it.

One last thing, if you’re that disgruntled, leave. If you can go from someone who did their job the best they could, to someone who does the bare minimum, tell that to your next employer during the interview. Be honest and see how quickly you get that phone call back.

In response to your comment, let me just tell you that I am not doing nothing but just the minimum.
No emotion involved in this company anymore.
I am surprised that shocks you.
Aren't you shocked by the lack of strategy, accountability, results from the board of this company?
Aren't you shocked that while they where laying off 2/3 if the US employees they were sharing 16.2 million between their buddies? Aren't you shocked that they are hiring cheap employees after laying off valuable ones?
Are you that ignorant that you still believe you have a mission for Hertz?
You seem to be in serious trouble if you think you exist thanks to the company because guess what? The company doesn't care about you and all the ones it trashed like paper tissue.
Hertz will collapse, but the management will make a fortune until the last breath.
So free for you to feel involved.
I don't.

I read your statements and wonder how can you possibly be getting paid to do nothing? Many of us that are still employed, don’t have a minute to do nothing.
With everything that is going on with the company, it’s people like you that need to be let go.

This company has turned into the shadow of itself.
Walter Jacobs and John Hertz are probably turning around in their graves!
Let's all wait and do the minimum, even less than the minimum.
Just because Hertz doesn't deserve any better.
Incompetent management, liars, crooks, greedy people, zero integrity, scam maestros... that's what comes to my mind when I think about Hertz!
Sick of giving my precious time to that type of culture. And for the time being, I'll let them gimme the little dough I make and won't sweat for their request.
Time to reverse the system.
Let the employees get paid doing nothing!
And when they'll fire me, then I'll make sure I never work again for corrupted organization.
