You can’t make this stuff up. One of the few selling points of HBO Max leaving the service shortly after launch to a service that offers a free tier. And the worst part? Warnermedia owns the rights to Harry Potter!

Warner Media still retains ownership and any network or service that wants to air them pays Warner Media .Thats how business works. The whole idea behind the Warner acquisition was to get content ownership. That means others have to pay to play. If they are smart about it, it will pay HUGE dividends in the future.

I recently watched Peacock. I don't think their library is anything as good as Time Warner, but they have personalization. Meaning if you watch action, you get more action movies thrown your way because of what you watched.
I have used HBO MAX and it has no feature like that to best of my knowledge. That is something which is pretty great on NetFlix and Amazon. Has anybody else experienced HBO Max and whether it has the personalization feature or not? Seems like a pretty big miss if they don't.

You could have watched iy when it was on Netflix too. Are you missing your Snape/Harry ship? Or were you all about Dumbledore and Snape as a couple?
Actually WarnerMedia doesn’t own the rights to all the HP movies...NBCUniversal owns a couple, we simply made a deal with them to have all the movies at the time of the hbo Max launch. It wasn’t a selling point of hbo Max, bc it wasn’t even announced prior and was a surprise even to industry insiders.
Which begs the question of whether Stankey is Snape or Voldemort?
