Why does everyone think a job they can’t stand and hate is better than being temporarily out of work/laid off?

This one got dark instantly what the heck is going on with some of you
Because I have bills to pay in a shrinking job market and devastated economy
Because we all have to eat? C’mon man, have some compassion, nobody wants to lose their job and have their income disrupted. Like 95% of us are in it for the money (ie to feed our families), not because we LOVE car insurance
Because I don’t hate my job. I hate working and want to become a millionaire overnight but since I don’t have a genie I guess I would prefer to stay employed.
Very ignorant of you!
I enjoy my work, definitely underutilized, just hate my sociopath boss and culture that perpetuates their bad behavior.
Why does anyone stay at a job? Duh
rdi+16jVQwhR ur probably right, but there are some unhinged people on here calling for burning the company, hurting the customer ... Etc. I'm disgusted by this as well but ....
Has this person even had a job? Everyone complains about work, it's a mental break / downloading type of thing. But don't equate venting about dissatisfaction at this decision to wanting to lose the wage/benefit stability of a full-time job. For many people the known evil is still preferable to the unknown evil. Sure you might land somewhere better, but you might also lose your home, health insurance, etc. If you're not going to guarantee that you can provide a better life to everyone, then there's no place for that type of dialogue, really.
Maybe some of us don't hate our job.
I have a family and bills, it would be one thing if the economy/jobs were booming but were in the middle of a pandemic and recession, have you looked for a job? It’s brutal out there. Allstate is enough to pay my bills, they know this and take advantage of us through their fear based culture
Maybe people want to keep their health insurance... Medicare for all!
because there's a hole from here to hell, and we fall in the moment we're born. life is wall to wall suffering with a grave at the end of it that comes far too late. you can hate your job, or hate being poor. all you can hope for is enough money to get a structure that keeps the rain off you while you drink and pursue a meaningless hobby to pass the time.
