FYI. Been at wells a really long time. Seen many layoffs. They occur on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Never on a Friday. So first date is the 20th of August. If all falls in line like it has for 25 years.

It’s you are not that bright or you’re not that bright
Not your...: the irony of you questioning someone’s intelligence is astonishing
THURSDAY, February 13, 2020- the WF Manila employees were told their jobs were being eliminated.
When people in my department got laid off last in 2018 (technology), it was on a Thursday. They had to take the rest of the day off, but came back in on Friday. It was in February. I don't remember when their last week day in the office ended up being.
@ogi you may have been laid off 3 times but not by Wells on a Thursday. You my friend are a troll lying. Pay periods dictate lay off dates. Period. Not sure how this is even a discussion. If you are actual Wells employees your not bright proves we need to do some deep lay offs. Which will occur on a Friday!!! Use your common sense.
Been laid off three times in my life and Thursday was the day each time.
Okay as I already said they are always Friday never not even in 2011/2012 was a Thursday an option. Has to be Friday end of the pay week not pay period but week we do everything by week begin / end. That way the WARN notice and severance end on exact days. Example I’m laid off this Friday. My warn notice would end a pay period 60 days from now so my severance can pick up the following Monday. Which leads me to severance we don’t do it by days only weeks so a Thursday lay off would end with an incomplete severance week your package would never end on a Thursday and by what you are saying it would sooooo you are again 100% incorrect call me I’m HR and straight up ask one of us this question it’s not a secret. Period.
I can only speak to Mortgage fulfillment. But back in 2011/2012 can’t remember exactly. They were always on the 3rd Thursday as the OP said.
I bet you’ve seen a lot of things under the new regime that you didn’t see before. Why do you think the same ole, same ole has any bearing anymore.
Actually you are incorrect. They always absolutely always happen on a Friday. In case we are letting go an employee who will freak out so they can just go home for the day and start their weekend. We never lay off then have them come in the next day she’ll shocked and gripping to other team members. I have been making severance packages For WFC since 11/2005 never have we done a Thursday. This post folks is fake news.
There’s a new sheriff in town and the public knows him as “the Chainsaw”. Many things have changed here recently, do you really think this won’t?
