Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Are the new Title Change listings on Teamworks? is it true that the new titles are a 1:1 with existing?

I'm hearing conflicting information. Does anyone one know if the titles are a 1:1 relation to your existing title? I was told yes but then what was presented to me is something different. Are the new titles posted in the job families? I wasn't able to find them when i searched. Thanks Everyone!

Your manager should have told you your new title and how it maps to the old title. It depends on old title/role. Some didn't change much at all, some changed a bunch since like 8 or more titles got banded into one new title within a job family (there are like 8 job families in tech)

They are tiered and will be going into effect throughout second half of August, at least for tech.

It's a bank. We're all AVPs.

Titles instead of money are how banks make money.

Not in tech but my area went through job title changes in 2019. The teamwork’s adjustments were done in pieces depending on your hire date to the role. I had the new title for about 3 months before Teamwork’s caught up

All sounds familiar with Boston consulting. They were hired at my previous company to do the same thing (operational efficiencies, “flatten the org structure”).

  1. Layoffs
  2. Severance
  3. Real estate consolidation, branch closure
  4. Interviews with associates prior to displacement (roles, responsibilities and short term goals)
  5. Consolidation of roles mainly in operations, enterprise risk and vendor management (first and second line)
  6. When teams were consolidated tenure superseded anything (if the senior most executive wasn’t performing consider them gone or forced into early retirement)
  7. Hard work and dedication ultimately rewarded (titles, pay increases and etc)
  8. Spans and layers (never stuck at my old company)
  9. Operational expenses and high paying jobs required executive approvals
  10. Vendor consolidations, contractors axed (unless approved by executive)

I am an Analytic Consultant 4 level and was given a Vice President title shortly after I started the job.
Have kept the email from HR about being designated as a VP at Wells Fargo. It was a great surprise actually! Sounds good, and looks good on the resume, but other than that no difference in anything. Never used VP in my email signature as many other employees do. I do not think the title of VP changes anything I do, or my standing in the company. A VP title does not make me any better than my fellow team members and I would not want them to think that I thought it did. Just another job title, of which I have had so many. I was an Assistant Vice President at Bank of America also, so what?

Not all apps engineers are software engineers. It depends on your functional group.

ASE level 5 and now software engineer with Corp title AVP. Everything else stays the same pay and bonus. No clues if it is good or bad. I don’t even care.

@Post ID: @1ugc+16i2HdWg Yes.. what is the old title versus the new title. for example for App Systems Engineer 4, 5 , 6 .... will they have three separate titles? Or are some levels getting combined into one new Title?

@Post ID: @1kkz+16i2HdWg - My apologies. I'm looking specifically for Technology roles.

The new titles are in the Job Families search under code 66 - Core Engineering. I think where they previously had 6 levels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) for a role, you will now find 4 roles. So not exactly 1:1. MRP's changed some.
