Vacation pay for terminated employees

Just curious - how did you get your unused vacation pay reimbursed? Was it added to your final paycheck? Was it an additional paycheck just for unused vacation? Do they pull out 401k contributions from your vacation pay?

Expecting I'll be there in a few weeks and want to get my 401k configured properly now.

Thanks

in my case, the unused VAC days were included in my last payroll paycheck, as were all the standard deductions (401k, etc.). The severance check came about a month later and that did NOT include any deductions other than required taxes for federal, state, etc. It sure felt like a bigger bite of taxes though, I wish/would've preferred 401k contributions but there was no option.

No 401k taken on severance check. Not sure about final check with vacation. I was cut last year. FYI, miss the $ but not the BS.

Whatever days you have remaining are added to your last paycheck. I quit and returned to AT&T.

My last day on payroll is 8/6, I am Management and I believe it is different for union. But for management, they pay a prorated amount of unused vacation time, said to be paid on the last check. In my circumstances, I get paid on my last day so I’ll get my vacation pay on the next pay cycle date they told me. For the union members in my area, Orange contract, they get paid out the full amount of vacation time, minus anything used already. Not sure if that helps, and best of luck to you.

I haven't been to any meetings yet because I haven't been laid off yet...but I've been given an unofficial notice that it's coming soon.

I was craft, so not sure how management is handled. My vacation pay was included on my last payroll check. Yes a lot of taxes came out of that, so if you do not want to pay those taxes up front, you should change your tax deductions before the date your last payroll date to be issued. 401k is not issued until you ask for it to be withdrawn or rolled over to an IRA. You should contact Fidelity about your 401 and pension.
