Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Companies must hold everyone accountable at all levels- This hasn’t happened at Allstate.

Leaders with no direct and others with 30-100 employees worked at the same level. Where is leadership? Where is HR? Cost and equity is Important and enable companies to succeed. Yes maybe now leaders are focused on both but where were those leaders prior to these layoffs? Successful companies allow employees to challenge and hold each other accountable. Why would inconsistent employees remain employed for years? Now, dedicated, good employees will lose their jobs. Come on Allstate... Your reputation is important both for your customers and for the people you employ. Trust has been eroded. Claims brought new leadership in but nothing was done, SPS, Marketing, etc. A lot of the leaders are followers vs leaders. Can you tell the difference?

Where is HR? They have been cut and cut so there are few left to do anything, several high up HR VP's were forced out, ones that would question things, and sales runs things. It has for years been a place where people in sales have been given a free pass for doing things other employees would be fired for, that is changing as they were spending too much money for BS things, so now they lose there jobs, time to clean house in sales and start over.

It would be nice if some of Esurance’s culture gets adopted. Not that it will happen but would be nice...

Again, this feeds into promoting based on tenure and not merit. These “leaders” know they are protected hence the continual bad behavior. There are to many politicians and not enough objective oversights at Allstate.

It’s simple. It’s who you know not how you do your job
