Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

New wave of culture engineering

Stank and company figured that a 10 page power point and lots of yapping is going change culture. This will surely surpass Donovan's ATO Culture Series in the amount of talking involved. Yep, lots of talk, zero action.

"Our old, bureaucratic way of working slowed us down and held us back." Genius, absolutely genius. McFresh is creating a new transformation org with numerous VP/AVP/Director line up. A whole new bureaucracy because we simply don't have enough bureaucracies. Want to keep your job, better have "transformation" in your job title.

I feel like I would make better money being contracted as a consultant to AT&T. They buy any BS hook, line, and sinker. Seriously, this idea that ppl will have more freedom to make decisions, but only if you meet certain quotas in your make up, make your direct supervisor look good, or don’t spend any actual money to save the company money for the dividend. I can put together a “culture” program for less than Morrow that is the real winner in this “transformation”.

Well if anything screams "new, fresh, modern culture," it' a ten-page powerpoint.

Just another distraction to hide the fact that Johnny Stank does not have a clue how to save this company. Our finances are in the sh#tter and our customer base is rapidly evaporating. Instead of cute PR messages, Stinky needs to come up with an effective business model for this company.

Another program that’s all sizzle and no steak. Just another rash of BS to endure. If they want to pay me $120k a year to read this c-ap and listen to a video so be it. Just gimme my check.

I didn't even read it. At some point someone will tell me what mandatory training I need to do. I will sit and let the videos play muted in the background, take the survey, and get credit for the course. Like we always do.

I just wish leadership would spend 10% of their time on actual business strategy.

It seems they spend ALL of their time on this, um, nonsense.

And next year it will be some different nonsense.

Is Elliott Group telling the Stank pile to do all this?

Five years ago, before the carnage of never ending mass layoffs, some of us might have given a damm. But at this point, Stankey can just go and shove his cultural engineering verbiage. We all know we don't have a future at this place.

If one ATT globe redesign cost $100 million, I'm guessing the four squirlly "hand drawn" icons here were $10 million each.

Why is this necessary? Do we "feel" like we have to do something? Have we been "told" to do something?

"Our old, bureaucratic way of working slowed us down and held us back." .... heard that every year for the past 15 years at least now.

So are they finally admitting everyone up top planning this has always been incompetent? What took them so long to figure this out?

Yet , another lame example of leadership, lots of flowery corporate language, without any real substance.

This is why it's a clear failure of leadership, instead of point out an honest reality , what kind of workforce reductions there will be and what roles and positions will remain . Just a lot of nebulous feel good (for the execs talk,) .. as usual nothing of substance.

Always listen to investor calls to hear substance, management treats us like kindergarten kids, with lots of colorful euphemisms and aspirations.
