Either the 7 Aug or 14 Aug. Many will be let go. This will be much easier now since they have sent home again, most of us to work. There will be no face to face with anyone. Also so the higher ups can pad their bonuses and blame the outcome on covid. When in reality this company has wasted money, remember the checks for 50 dollars per customer. Remember the mass mailings to customers to explain how cool it was for NW to give them money. Then the additional mass mailings to let California know a second time how cool NW is, because you have to do things a different twice in Cali.

At a past ITLT meeting JF expressed the strong urge to cut IT overhead, basically anyone not coding was fair game. The mythical “hands on keyboard” formula for headcount is a real thing. In his defense there is an incredible amount of IT waste. Why? Because mediocre performance is not only tolerated, many times it’s rewarded! He stepped into a culture of entitled job security to the point where you would swear the IT organization was unionized! Leaders can’t fire low performers unless Associate Services aka “Internal Affairs” does a 10 week analysis on the justification. All too often leaders are strongly encouraged to find the low performer “another seat on the bus”. In other words find a leader to take your low performer and make it their problem. An utter circus.

The PAS removal these last few weeks has been writing on the wall since 2018. In fact, JF wanted to remove PAS back then but was talked out of it for fear of year end lay-off optics mixed with the already 400 layoffs that they were targeting. Oh and he thinks the AVP level is a waste which I agree, most are glorified Directors at best who graduated into those AVP roles by seniority, not by performance. Take the emotions out of it and you will agree the moves were long overdue, unfortunately Keller kicked that can for far too long....
