I accepted Voluntary Surplus What’s Next?

I accepted the voluntary surplus and if it is granted I will be off payroll 8/13. Since I submitted my acknowledgement 2 weeks ago, I have not received any correspondence from the company regarding my departure. Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes for them to contact you (have any of you in my situation been contacted?) or will I just keep working until August 13th? I’m lost & ready to move on to my next career. Thanks!

I accepted the buyout, was informed on July 13th with off payroll date of July 17th. I’m glad I did it. It was a fun ride knowing all the folks I worked with, and that will be the only part I miss. Took the money and ran and already landed a good gig when I really wasn’t even looking hard yet. Good luck to everyone, those who leave and those who stay

I sent my acceptance in the day I received the offer and haven't received any notification in the two weeks since.

I've already submitted applications and am preparing to move on with my career as if the severance has been approved.

Worst case scenario, it's not approved, and I still leave payroll by August 13th, 2020. Best case scenario, it's approved, and I leave payroll by August 13th, 2020 with that severance to be paid out within 30 days.

IF you are retiring or taking an early retirement you will need to do all the leg work though fidelity and internet HR departments. Do not expect anybody to be proactive with you on this.

I know a tech in Local 6 who was notified 1 day before his departure, crazy but true.

You will be notified in the next couple of days. The IBEW 21 Union, labor, and HR have been dealing with core preferences and they are in the 3rd round now. I was told notices should be out by end of business Friday. They only got around 40-50 techs to take the leave out of the 130 so they won’t be denying anyone.

If I were you, and may G-d bless you for having to make these decisions during these times, reach out directly to HR, via phone, email and anything else, and get some live person on and tell you what the statis is, and where you are in the process. I would be 100% consumed doing this all day long, and forget tying up loose work related ends.

You will be notified by email once seniority requests have been completed. You should be contacted, if you made the cut, within a week or so after the last date you had to submit your request.

Not speaking from experience as I have not been in this position, but I expect if you are accepted your immediate supervisor and union steward should notify you and someone from HR would tell you what to do and when to do it.
