T will end up like GE...their stock price tanked and very few investors because the dividend will no longer be sustainable, but the price will be in single digits...a lot to worry about if you’re a stock holder!

T is too big to fail. They will get bailed out just like Boeing and GM did!
Kodak, the once famous photography company, has rebranded itself and is now making the much-needed chemicals required to manufacture pharmaceuticals that are now in short supply because of the COVID-broken supply-chains, so, no, Kodak is adding value similar to the value AT&T overlooked in its core business.
Na more like the next GE. BAD fraudulent leadership, a terrible CEO, buying companies for no reason other than to make revenue and earning appear good on paper.
KODaK, nah never, T is a near monopoly in one of the world's largest Telecom markets , it's in about a bullet proof industry as there is, especially given the world where remote work is even more important.

why such leaders command astronomically high salaries?
It is crystal clear that he doesn't have the skills, but somehow manage to land the top job anyway, with his struggling aquisition and failed in his attempts to turn it around.
But it takes particular ineptitude to start with a potentially successful telecom company and drive it toward failure by adding content. That's especially true when the reason for the decline has nothing to do with the core company's product or services.
