Discussions ongoing around budget cuts for 2021. Cutting deep, likely means a greater Reorg on the table.
It really doesnt lack substance, if you are in the know and see what's going on around us. Just dont be caught off guard. Be prepared.
Ah yes good ol budget cuts. So in the latest town hall we came out strong. Seems like our leaders are looking through rose color glasses. Yet Year after year projects get cut or completely stopped, resources lost. And much scrambling.. To pick up where you left off is more costly. Anthem plans poorly, it's not just the pandemic. I'm just saying..
True,. the Q2 numbers look good because of the increase in medicaid business. That is going to prove to be a temporary gain that will start to slip late Q3 or Q4 and certainly by Q1 next year. The question is whether we get back any of those Commercial members that we lost due to the pandemic. In the end, when it all shakes out, I'm guessing there will be a net membership loss.
Its totally accurate... Anthem leadership lacks integrity, authenticity, or compassion– healthcare is just a widget after all. They have substance though– creating and destroying family economies at will. That has substance alright, based on pretty twisted values. Long live feudalism–I mean American free enterprise. Remember if your not wealthy and well-heeled, you just shouldn't have let yourself be born a looser.
The short term gain of the pandemic has made the q2 numbers look good but the long term impact of membership loss will mean something has to go. Local plans will need cuts. But yeah, you're totally right anthem does all these layoffs bc they have very poor forecasting
And lets not forget the increasing debt ratio hole that they've dug for all of us. Chickens coming home to roost. Poor leadership.
They wouldn’t need to have these ridiculous hair-on-fire budget drills semi-annually if they actually planned and could stick with a company strategy for more than a quarter at a time. Egos, power, and unchecked spending is a recipe for disaster.
I have no inside information but I think they have to set plan expectations for the next year so my guess would be that there will be lots of layoffs by Jan 2021. They could start earlier because of the pandemic
