Term Techs coming to SE

Construction is about to hire 600+ Term technicians for the big build. What a slap in the face if you were forced out from construction last year. I hope they get what they pay for. How deplorable our executive board can be.

This is very common, they did it with pls and have done it before. Nothing new here. If your low on seniority also, hopefully they keep some of these terms.

After I retired, got a letter wanting to pay me $40 per hour for strike duty. I told them I require $150 per hour and they said they are only paying $40 per hour and I would have to pay a minority contracting firm from my paycheck for the job. No. $150 per hour for me and I don't care who pays a minority contracting firm but it doesn't come out of my pay.
Later as the company went on strike got a call that they would pay $100. No. Now I require $175 and I still don't pay a black owned contracting firm (owned by a black ex-exec).
Everytime they called, my hourly fee increased. When I walked, I was ready, didn't look back.
Get my LL from Obihai and google voice, my internet from Spectrum, my TV from Sling and my cell phone from Mint Mobile.
Life is so much better with NO T.

I retired and am getting emails to take a level 2 construction project in rural Kentucky. I’m waiting for an increased production bonus.

They usually bring back as many retirees as possible. At least that’s what they have done in my area in the past. So the quality of work isn’t bad but they are not in a hurry

They will get what they paid for. These people will be treated like dogs with no benefits. Who is going to work their butt off for that?
