$10,000 for each year of service, 5 years added to age and years of service and guarantee retiree supplemental medical insurance. That would be a fair offer.

Mobility does not offer subsidized insurance - Cingular anyway... working for benefits. After 31 years - you get, nothing. (Small pension). Appreciate of ...

The problem with retiring is, even with medical insurance subsidy, healthcare costs are crushing. It didn’t used to be this way, but now days, we have to pay for the uninsured parasites, and believe me, there are millions of them.

Many really should just go ahead and opt out. There isn’t going to be a magical package that many have been speaking of for 10 years now. Not going to happen. Those days are gone. They really should take the severance package being offered now as it’s likely going to be not as good next time. However, that would require a selflessness on their parts and a financial comfort that many may not have. I’ve seen managers retire to save others because they cared and were at that point. Sadly most of those folks already have left. They were the good bosses to have.

I’d be more than happy and willing to retire, but only if T offers a severance package! T just hasn’t taken the time to determine who is actually willing to leave companywide. They’re making the decision for you, unfortunately, because I’d bet they would get a lot of takers, but only if...

T NEEDS CASH, do your part, What about a nursing home headcount initiative 2070... a fully staffed nursing home on site, people would never leave alive..lol....and AT&T would cash the life insurance

for many would be a dream job.
