NS looking to run more trains around Enola, and do more flat switching. Not sure about idling that place.

They are going the wrong direction on operating ratio while everyone else is moving forward. In July the competition began reporting way-worse-than-last-year-but-still-better-than-expected Q2 results. Ns looked at their own preliminary numbers and knew we were in trouble. The board of directors met behind closed doors, having finally lost the last bit of patience in Farrell and he got the boot. Board also decided that it was time for Wheeler to retire and so now we have Sanborn as the new “everybody look who we got now to get this company straightened out” executive. Better believe that while we were treated to a good preview over the last year the ‘best’ is yet to come. Don’t be fooled into returning if you are furloughed. It’s only temporary. If you are still here you better keep your a$$ marked up and make it while you can. There’s no way they are turning back now....they better be thanking god that this year they had a virus to blame everything on. The fist of the new COO will be delivering the knockout blows to shops/yards/departments etc shortly to be sure of a fresh start to 2021.

I don’t see anything major happening in October. I have a strong feeling they’re going to pull a major Tuesday before Thanksgiving lay-off or possibly Christmas. Then last minute they’ll force OT on all the guys that had Holiday plans and give anyone that marks off days on the street. Unfortunately they know the union won’t fight too hard against it

12% cut coming October 2nd. Discussed in our meetings about work force adjustments. Yards where they know early quits and deals are happening will have a higher %. Possibly as high as 18-20%.
