It's true because CNN reports it as such and they're experts on everything!

The post about fake news, haters have no real solutions other than complaining and making no sense comments.
I don’t think they understand the problem to figure out how to solve it.

Why can’t everyone including the Rich pay the same percentage of all taxes across the board, that should make the right and the left happy you would think ?
This payroll tax cut is just a gimmick, we will have to pay it all back else will be penalized.

Congress?? "You must pass it to see what's in it...."

Trump cannot unilaterally stop the payroll tax from being collected, only defer the collection. Any termination of this tax would have to be by congress and that’s highly unlikely.

Lifting the cap on earnings paid into social security will fully fund the program for decades.

I would like to have a choice in the matter. Let the people choose how to invest their SS payments independent of the Federal Government. I know I could do better than the paltry 2% I will "earn" on what I paid into SS.

If you don't have the tolerance for investment risk, your other choice would be to invest in a very low risk bond fund earning more than the 2% SSA.

Just get the government out of it so they can't waste the money. SS lockbox is a complete joke!

The USD is already a smoke and mirrors fiat currency. Programs run out of $, no problem, we can print more.
There are underlying issues in this economy that run much deeper than SS payments and the inevitable death star destruction.

This is nothing new, and has nothing to do with AT&T. So why post about it here?

Aside from all the “fake news” comments etc.. it’s been long acknowledged that SS will eventually become insolvent. Simply too many collecting, especially with boomers all starting to collect soon, and not enough putting in.

The whole concept is outdated, and needs to be revamped. No politician will touch it as they’ll be painted as wanting to cut Grannies benefits. They need to give younger people the option to opt out. Anyone with a brain in their head would, as it is the worst retirement plan one could conceive.

What will end up happening is means testing. Those deemed “too rich” won’t get their benefits, or will get a seriously reduced amount. That’s most of you with a 401k or any other retirement.

I’ve been hearing for 20 years how Social Security will be out of funds (I can’t honestly remember the exact date or timeframe), however it’s been in the news for years- WAY before this tax break/deferral. Just another political talking point. Carry on....

CNN just pointing out that with Trumps plans to eliminate payroll tax that funds Social Security, it would become insolvent in a short number of years. No fear mongering.

At AT&T there are 3 scenarios; all of them will need Social Security and or disability benefits.

I think is relevant if you are impacted by:

Layoff
Forced to retirement
Fired

95% chances you are in one of these 3 pretty soon

fearmongering I thought political posts weren't allowed on this site but I guess if it suits an agenda it is okay because we all know this is a nwo cesspool site.
