Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

HEADS UP

ALLSTATE WILL – I REPEAT, THEY WILL FIGHT YOUR UNEMPLOYMENT IF YOU GET FIRED/QUIT BEFORE YOU ARE LAID OFF. THEY WILL HAVE YOU COLLECT UNEMPLOYMENT ONLY TO TELL YOU AFTER THE FACT THAT THEY ARE FIGHTING IT.

I RECIEVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL FROM THE STATE SAYING ALLSTATE IS TAKING ME TO COURT FOR MY UNEMPLOYMENT AFTER GETTING FIRED. THE PAPERWORK WAS DELAYED DUE TO COVID. I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE STATE BACK THEIR UNEMPLOYMENT IF I LOSE.

PROTECT YOURSELF, ALWAYS.

I'd advise everyone to make every phone call, fill out every form, and do everything possible for your unemployment. Don't make it easy for them to deny you. And if they still do make it very costly for them. At that point.. light it up.. make a lot of noise. call local news. post social media. Make it dangerous for them to deny you . These are the times to fight.

I you quit they don’t pay, if they fired you and work at Allstate more then 90 days they will have to pay, unless you stole from them or committed a crime

Very situational, did you leave before your 60 days? Was the no contest of unemployment put in writing? (Probably not) I stress to get everything in writing and ride out your 60 days, with written performance expectations during the 60 days so you are not let go before then. If your manager verbally speaks with you, recap the conversation via email. PROTECT YOURSELF!

That's how unemployment has always worked

Really depends on why you were fired. If you quit then you would not be entitled.

Every company does this.

Hopefully you've provided facts to the state. If you did, not sure how you could lose.
