Most 1st level managers let go are because of multiple missed appointments and due dates. If they don’t get involved and understand the work, they are terminated. The days of spread sheet phone calls to techs are over as per C suite. Get out now.

Randall stated very publicly a couple of years back that the organization was seeking to attract Millennials with fresh legs to replace the aging work force. He also stated that AT&T was not positioning itself as a long career opportunity to this work group. Just a place for a quick 2-4 years and then move on. Churn and burn. This was exactly the Sprint model at that time. Hire 'em cheap; work 'em hard; let them go when they start asking for more money. I believe that we are still running that play from the playbook. Jury is still out in my mind whether this is going to success.

Sure, they need to fire in the US so they can hire Mumbai U grads!

Craft positions have recall rights. Your position cannot be “hired off the street” for 5 years.

My friend in sales got the package and immediately got a job offer to work for another company doing the same thing at 1/3 less pay. Took it as only needed another two years of income to retire.
