I understand that 20+ people in Subscriber Product Engineering (Mansfield org) were given the choice to rebadge to a company called Luxoft and be contracted back to AT&T to continue their current roles. If they don’t take the offer they are off payroll 9/9 with no severance etc.

So, if you don't take their re-badge offer, then you're not eligible for the severance plan when they lay you off? Didn't know that. P*ss-poor way to treat people.
They will be long gone before the end of twelve months. I’ve been working contract sh– jobs for four years now. I’m always promised long term contracts. They might last at best 8 months. Get out of there now. Once you accept contractor work, no one will ever hire you full-time again.
happening since amdocs, ibm, etc. easy way to k–l severance. wouldn't expect anything less
If you don’t take the offer, then you do not get a prorated team award either
