Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Word on Claims as of today

Per discussion with a claims peer today per a senior lead:

  • Esurance claims process and structure to be implemented completely from top to bottom and start to finish. Esurance claims process and structure deemed to be more streamlined and less souls needed. All claims areas and departments to be impacted in some way including re-organization, education of implemented processes, movement of employees to other claims duties, and lay offs.
  • There will be some movement of roles from claims to customer service.
  • August 3rd to 7th expected time frame of large scale communications, learning of some fates (cutting of souls) and all assessments ordered from employees where applicable. A few areas of claims received assessments as of this past Wednesday through today.
  • Lay offs to impact Allstate claims much more than Esurance claims. Regional specific claims roles pretty much eliminated with bare minimum for specific state needs as required. Very few of these roles will be left.
  • There will be promotion opportunities out of this.
  • Esurance personnel to be put into senior claims leadership positions to oversee this change in claims operations and continued application of claims enterprise under this new process and structure.

This is all I was told. I do not have the exacts of specific roles, regions/areas, and office/site locations.

I have heard essentially the same thing. The cost and customer service are irrelevant - they want to operate like Geico/Progressive and Esurance is closer to that model. They are buying back market share lost through mismanagement and branding themselves just a relevant as the direct companies

Allstate claims reps handle big BI claims and cold calls all day.. Allstate Claim reps are much better as an SCO atty who works with both... esuranc3 is all 25 & 50's. I can't even imagine an esurance rep on a HO severity case call..have never let me go to trial ...like a deer in the headlights

That is BS ... I have been an SCO attorney for over 15 years. Allstate's combined
loss ratio is under 85 esurance is over 100.... yeah they are leading the way... they will probably all get laid off or put in CCCs

So they are going to make us go through another week of waiting when they already know what they are going to do with us.

Do keep in mind Esurance LDU reps handle a lot more then just liability. We focus on repairs, payments, TL settlement, we do a lot of small task that I hear Allstate LDU doesn’t even handle and that Allstate LDU only works on Liability. If this information is correct on Allstate LDU, why keep them when ESU claims does more work with less people. Cheaper for the company and is more streamlined with AKA less souls.

Esuarance has about 2000 claims employees and allstate has about 15,000.. I never have a claim where the other driver has esuarance so i can hardly imagine esuarance processes taking over Allstate’s . It’s one thing to handle a claim a certain way when you have .01 % of the market... I don’t know who the OP is or where they are getting their info, but it seems unlikely to me

Millennials prefer web insurance over face to face anyway. Time for traditional to go the way of the dodo bird and translate it to less overhead and cheaper rates.
