A bit somber today with this being several friend's last day after the 14 day notice. Did you loose someone today also?

Yes, some co-workers, whom I've known for many years, have been let go. I will miss working with them and seeing them every day. Most of us have exchanged personal contact info, so we'll try to keep up with each other going forward.
I also have lost two very good friends and a relative, whom have passed away. I wish I could stay in contact with them, but I have wonderful memories.
Many folks are dealing with tough times now for different reasons, so I can appreciate the original question posted here.
Lost my gold fish last week. Forgot to change the water, last time was like 3 months ago. It may have been dead much longer than a week ago. Finally threw it out because of the odor. And things that crawling and out of the bowl. I dun no. Loss. It's hard. But I'll find another gold fish. Will the OP find new friends? Will the OP's so called friends find new jobs? Life's mysteries.

friends at work, good luck with that. people don't care about others anymore. if you leave or stay, doesn't matter, people in general don't care for one another or your well being
Ok folks, simmer down. All the original OP is stating is that they enjoy working with some people on a daily basis and they will miss them going forward. I will miss the friends who have left.
Those "friends" that you lost today, are probably not even returning y our calls or messages now. Clear signal that they were not really your friends. If they were your friends, they would have still be your friends after leaving AT&T. Just some food for thought.
If they are really your friends you didn’t lose them you still can talk to them outside of AT&T

Luckily I am anti social and never made any friends at work. Work is work. Co-workers could die, lie, defecate on themselves, go the route of dementia, and I would be like, "that's ok". However, I have lost friends to COVID-19 in the last 2 months. I lost friends that served in Vietnam and Korea. So don't tell me about you lost friends that were layed off today. Ain't the same caliber. Don't cry for you Argentina. Go cry a river somewhere else. Get over it. Cheerio and all that good stuff I say my word.
You are correct, I agree with friends at work! I have 35 years and counting and have never socialized with people I work with...why, because I see them more than my friends or family! So, why would I want to spend even more time with them outside of work! Was never that interested because at the end of the day, career decisions might have to be made concerning those so called “work friends!”
It's a job.
Your goal is to make as much $$ as possible. Not make friends.
Build seniority. Work OT.
Take whatever vaca your seniority allows.
Work the best schedule for you and your family.
You have zero friends at work. None. all will sell you out for a nickle.
It's not a social activity, a get together, a cookout or a party.
It's a job...and if you think it's a place to make friends you are in for a rude awakening.

Yes, several good coworkers got the axe. And at least one person who always seems to complicate things instead of delivering results is still here. Another example of the blind leading the blind.

I did not lose my job, and don't expect to. But don't cry me a river just because you lost friends today. Bally hoo. Cheerio. You are glad it's not you. You know it. I know it. Lose. Can be difficult. Especially during a pandemic.

I hope all of you especially the prem techs with their b—s— “severance” will be ok financially, because you will definitely be better off mentally. When I was homeless and in dark point in my life I always told myself, there are people out there dealing with much much more than me.

I’d say that 80% of lvl3 and above could get cut and the only people that would notice, are those who forget to do their timesheets on friday
