Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

PAY CUT

Now that ATT has cut the pay of managers by $8 guess what I now make less than the reps. Thank you ATT for the value you place on your management team.

Hourly pay was lowered and moved into commission. It was only a “pay cut” for those who were working tons of OT and if your store doesn’t perform. Guess what, you’re a sales manager. Your job is to increase sales, it’s what you signed up for. This structure is the EXACT way it was in 2017 and before. Coach your people and increase sales or find something else, it’s a pretty simple concept.

@ksn...."I'd rather take a $10 paycut..". Is that per hour, day, week, or payperiod?... We're all here for our families first, not each other. I'm sorry but I have no interest in losing thousands every year just to keep someone else on the payroll(don't forget about those healthcare premiums that keep constantly rising with each new bargaining agreement as well).

For those that don’t know what is being talked about retail manager had $10k-16k taken from their hourly or salary and placed on their commission. If they hit the store goal money is still there. Assistant managers that work OT will take a hit. If you were in retail forte Jan 2017 this is the way it was.

@dhd+15zvmla8 I can understand you can be upset at a paycut IF your NOT going to be surplused, but Im going to be surplused, the numbers leaked already for the VSP which equals the amount they want out.. So 90% sure Im gone on 9/15 declaration date.. Id rather take the pay cut if it prevents a surplus. Even if it was a paycut for ONLY those that would have been surplused.

@dhd+15zvmla8 right they have no excuse but they are doing it anyway! Just surprised people would rather be unemployed.... so those who say if you want a low paying job go work at wendys or walmart... welcome to unemployment.. Id rather take the paycut and stay on.

RSM paycuts reduced base salary by 10-12k per year depending on level of store. They can’t even blame the pandemic they announced this to us before it happened.

@iym, if you want a job with low pay, go work at Wendys or Walmart. AT&T has no excuse to be lowering worker's pay when they just gave ole' Randall $250,000 per month for life.

So people downvote for taking a pay cut versus being unemployed... I know the company should make good decisions to benefit us all to prosper and have job security but again I’d rather keep my job with a pay cut but I guess you people rather be unemployed.. smh

I'm a "manager" (you realize that most people in HR, finance, IT, engineering, etc are "managers," right?) and there hasn't been a pay cut. That is not a tool that AT&T typically uses.

Dude , what's wrong with you besides being a small minded hateful individual. This First class A hole doesn't speak for all us craft. Most of us sympathize with what management employees are going thru right now. No one should ever wish upon someone else to lose their job. It affects not only them but their families , their children and on a macro scale, our communities and country suffer when unemployment rises. To those of you saying ugly things to those losing their jobs, grow up and act your age. It's shameful , petty , and ugly of you to taunt and kick those who are already down.

Never had my pay cut as top craft in 38 yrs.
Which is why I never went in to management.
Enjoy your title.
I'll enjoy my $$$$.

Better than being without a job! As a core CST outside tech I would take a $10 pay cut if I knew it would prevent a surplus for us!

If true, that's 16k a year. That's ridiculous.

ASM's in retail store had their hourly lowered but their at risk increased.

so now if your store doesn't perform, you won't get paid as consistant as before
