Dead Peasant Insurance is sometimes used as a shorthand reference for life insurance policies that insure a company’s rank-and-file employees and name the company as the beneficiary. This means that the company receives the life insurance benefits when the covered employees die.
kudos AT&T!

You make money when your workers die

If you are feeling stress or anxiety, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help you. Getting surplussed (especially during a pandemic) certainly s—s, but don’t be afraid or embarrassed to reach out for help.

I was less stressed waiting for a biopsy result. And it sure as heck took less time. How long has it been since that Stankey call and most people still don't know their fate? It feels a bit sadistic.

It’s utter BS that T brought the point system back! My coworker had symptoms of Covid was told to stay home and collected all points! FN BS

Quit your whining. Go find another job. Don’t p–p where you eat. You won’t find job security anywhere. It’s your job to plan for the future. Don’t spend more than you make or have a bunch of kids you can’t afford. Life isn’t fair so buck up and spend your time improving your skills and looking for something outside the company. See how much money you bring in by griping. Grow up.

No motivation to work knowing that either I may not have a job before the end of the summer and/or the projects I am working may get cut. Trying to stay focused has been challenging the last few weeks. I have made it thru so many years of hoping I am not on the list but this one seems different.

I don’t have any motivation to work. Everybody’s morale is low. It has been going on for some time already.

Even though I'm personally not at high risk of being laid off due to my seniority in craft , it's still very stressful to work in this toxic environment day in and day out. Not just talking about this year either. We've been living under constant threats of job security for many years now. It's gotten old. Tired of being miserable at work but I also refuse to quit. Why should I quit , I'm not the one who s—s.

Even though my job isn’t at risk and shouldn’t be anytime in the near future (knock on wood), it’s still pretty stressful with everything going on. I’m sorry for everyone who’s job is at risk now because it totally s—s. I’ve been surplused multiple times and it’s been pretty terrible each time. Layoffs at a time like this are even worse. All I can say is good luck and hang in there. Things should get better, whether its with or without T.

There has been a few smaller studies if the effects of layoffs on the workforce, but they only go up to one or two layoffs. Nothing like multiple layoffs in a year, the effect on us workers is very profound. I’ve seen my coworkers suddenly pass away merely months after a layoff and the undue stress that this puts on your mental and physical well being is exactly why after 20 years I’ve put my papers in. So long T I’m sure I’ll read all about in the news about your ongoing layoffs, reorganization’s and cost cutting. I hope for the best for anyone left.

Can’t believe how poorly we are being treated. The fact that every new “leader” is having a call to tell us about their new job while we sit there wondering if we have a home drives me bat sh– crazy!
