Union has to be notified a Quarter in advance of a lay-off for bargained for employees in District 9. Union notified 2nd Quarter (April-May-June) for layoffs / surplus in 3rd Quarter (July-August-September). Soonest a layoff will occur for bargained for employees is July 1st.

Com’on guys, doing the right thing isn’t part of AT&T management’s DNA. Unless you are a complete noob, you know this already. Time to move on.
why? AT&T created #thelayoffmentaltorture, undeniable truth: abuse, in all its forms, shapes and sizes, is everywhere. In fact, it has even become part of most people's way of life here, for years now that, they have trouble spotting it for what it is: a gross disrespect for one person and his rights, with harmful and injurious results, and the only one to benefit from it is the company.

This is the one of the worst parts of it.
They no doubt know who is going to be laid off.
So why keep secrets? Let people know ASAP, so they can get on with seeking employment elsewhere. Keeping people in suspense is just callous.
