Arroyo Org Restructure

An email just went out with the re-shuffling at the VP level in the Arroyo org.

It looks as if there was a reduction in the number of people reporting directly to Arroyo, but I honestly don't give a spit about any of them so I can't tell you who stayed, who left, or who joined, only that there are fewer. Similarly, the reports to that second level also seems to have shrunk a bit – but again I don't know their names, don't care to know their names, and so can't tell who has gone.

No announcements regarding how much or little the workers at the lower levels are hit.

The only really disappointing news was seeing Devin Merrill still active. That guy is worse than useless. In fact, he's so completely and utterly unqualified, incompetent, arrogant, and smug that my money is on him eventually taking over for Stinkbomb.

Absolutely agree with the original comment about Devin Merrill. DICE (Distribution, Insight, & Customer Experience) was an utter disaster. He was one of the people I was hoping would get cut, but alas. He did go from having an entire organization to one direct report... My guess is that he is part of the DTV group that gets sold in a few months.

How does David Christopher manage to stay around? That guy took over DirecTV and Mobility and the numbers have tanked for years now

You can certainly see whose next on the chopping block. If you don’t have responsibilities after your name you are probably non-essential.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

@utb: I feel your pain. I'm not at all used to identifying various departments by the names of the executive in charge. But one thing I learned through my time here is that ATT is constantly changing the names of their work groups. BBV used to be EG which used to be something else, which used to be something else. And that's just in the 5 years since DTV entered the picture.

I guess using the names of executives is just easier.

The high level managers will survive with the free cars, home security and on call tech support! Many VPs are just coasting asking questions that they should be able to answers to themselves if they had any skills!!

WTF is an Arroyo Org? Does AT&T have ANY functional named organizations? Every post is just talking about some dudes "organization". What is this, the Mob? No departments, no organization names... unbelievable. Is this how they run that place? No wonder it's circling the toilet.

FYI: Arroyo goes from 10 direct reports to 6 - a 40% cut.

I wonder (hope) if there is a consistent level across all three of the top levels of executives.
