I'm a systems tech 20 years. I got the offer. I don't want to leave the company but I wouldn't mind transitioning to ET. I wonder if I can ask for that instead of leaving the company. I believe their are ETS retiring in my area.

There is an allocation of people who can get the offer. Those on the list get first crack at it by seniority. Then it goes to other positions provided there is someone who has passed the qualifications tests for that position.

I know of two, both very senior folks who have positions that were not on the list. It will be interesting to see if they get approved.

I have. I would have been surplussed anyway at end of year and I have already found a job with better schedule and benefits. I am a ST with 21 years and low man at my work center. I will be the 15th tech to be displaced in last 3 years or so including construction. Glad to be leaving, good luck to those that remain.
