Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

How can I enhance my chances of getting laid off?

Want them to select me this time around, which means it probably won't happen for me. I really want out. I am ready to go, regardless of what the separation package ends up looking like. I wish we could volunteer ourself to save a colleague who wants to stay, but we've been told a hard no on that. I don't feel like you can let your boss know your wishes, that'll probably end up backfiring on you, especially if you end up staying. Can't get yourself fired, or outright quit, if you want benefits. So I ask how can you make yourself a target? If you're meeting expectations in performance, but not exceeding, been around a long time and making a lot, what can you do to get on the list? Some say the names are already known, not sure about that. We are actually having formal mid-year reviews this year, a change from the past, so speculation is those could be used to downgrade performance and justify putting you on the list. I feel both for those who want to leave and will be left behind to deal with the aftermath, and for those who need to keep their job but will be let go. Messed up. Guess we'll see, should be starting over the next few weeks.
