Question about VP-level Layoffs

The emails are starting to come about VP level culling. Which is good, and in many ways very long overdue.

But does the departure of a VP have a direct relationship to the folks working in the trenches in that org? By that I mean if VP A is gone are the people in that org more or less likely to also get the chop?

Or does it not matter because people will be re-grouped and at that point anyone is a potential victim?

Just curious, even though I think it probably doesn't matter

Not sure where you're getting 50% number, but technicians have about 50 different metrics. Most techs stay about 85-90%+ completed jobs month over month. Any tech running that sort of number would throw red flags at every level of leadership. What I find crazy is how many orders that come from sales, IHX, And retail stores that our techs have to cancel to submit a new order.

To the person that said L1-L3 aren’t in the trenches, you have clearly never held a sales position where your sales consist of millions in revenue. Yet, an installer not wanting to do his job can cost the company $20k on just one 50M dedicated fiber sale. I have been here for a while and Union employee 60% of my career and it’s the Union employees that k–l us. Try to walk into one of our stores and get friendly help or have a UVerse or DTV install on a Saturday and you quickly find out why I say this. Do you realize 50+% of Saturday installs don’t get done yet a customer waited 3 weeks to get a weekend install and because a Union employee doesn’t want to work customers get blown off. 2 years ago their was even a DTV installer videoing himself on Snapchat calling to cancel orders stating customers aren’t home.

There are plenty of L1 and L2 managers that are in the trenches, Im one, I'm an individual contributor supporting customers daily.

The heavy hitter if that particular group is gone, but that part of the business probably still plays a role in some aspect, so the employees of said group will be reorganized with 1,2, or 3 different segments to form one. Just my opinion of how it’ll go. They’ll still probably let the more tenured folks go to free up $$$, and have the less tenured folks that make less $$$ run the show! This will then cause the older processes of their respective jobs that did work be transformed into new processes causing the customer to feel the brunt of the “younger” reps lack of knowledge.

I wouldn't exactly call L1, L2 and L3 management employees "in the trenches". That would be reserved for union folks. AT&T has always segregated it's executive and management workforce. Nothing new here.

L1-L3 = Management
L4 - Above = Executive Branch

I suspect both. If a VP goes then consolidation occurs and if their is duplication then perhaps there is job jeopardy. Problem is, everyone is being treated like a mushroom right, being fed sh– and kept in the dark.
