Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

$10 Billion in cost cuts coming into perspective

As per post from 3/4/20 (pre-COVID), cost cuts are to be $10 BILLION over 3 years. First: Layoffs, as the fastest way to cut $3B this year alone. There won't be anybody left to run the company or to push the blame on. The last guy in front of the camera will be Mr. S., and he will need to turn it off himself. He will be forced to admit: "You know nothing, John Snow!"

Hey, not defending AT&T k–ling so many jobs.... just want to give clarity to the size of cuts coming..... at this point, people have to understand that if you are cut, it was being in the wrong department at the wrong time.... these layoffs are 100% due to management failures.... this coming from a former 4th line... when big Ed announced he was leaving and Randy was taking over there was a collective groan.... we all knew what was coming, but had no ability to stop it....

Then you will get to say, "I told you" and "I was right all along". Can't wait.

I think $100k/person is about right (salary+benefits...). So if you do the math to achieve $10B in saving over 3 years means that ~33,000 people need to be surplused/ laid-off/ terminated/ fired almost immediately....

5000 jobs at $100000 each is 500 million . 9.5 million to go.
